2011-05-14 En grön hund
Today we left the tent and equipment and went for a daytrip to the east point of the inlet. After approx 8 km there was no more sea ice. Big pieces of ice were drifting around in the water and in the background km after km of glacier fronts, white mountain sides, moraine and black stone. Birds in the water, seals on the ice and tracks of a polar bear along the shoreline. It is so dramatic, beautiful and amazing! You have to experience it, no words can express how great it is.
At the east point there is a small hut, knocked a bit to the side by winds and an avalanche. Recently viseted by a bear, so half the door was broken.
On the way back Ronja found fresh bear shit to perfume herself with, that smells badly!
