2011-05-07 Vilken lyx!
We slept in Kjellström valley and today our journey continued down through the valley. The valley is wide and flat, so after an hour of skiing it feels like we haven't got anywhere.
A pale sun sometimes managed to show through the clouds and in the wind snowflakes were tumbling around on there way down.
Just before the valley reaches Van Mijenfjord a small mining society is located, Sveagruva, with 250 persons working there. We saw the houses from a distance. we also suddenly saw three snow mobiles coming up over the moraine that ends the valley. The dogs got excited. The three snow mobiles continued in through the valley on our left side. But then they changed direction and came straight towards us. When they stopped I saw two familiar faces, Tommy and Vinjar who helped us to get to Verlegehuken! What a great surprise!
We talked for a while, they were on their way to a lake fishing, not far from where we had the tent last night. And they are staying in a hut not far away. The dogs and I followed their tracks back to the hut while they went fishing.
A warm hut, lovely fresh food, people to talk to, a nice bed to sleep in... Life is great!
