2011-04-21 Verlegenhuken
I woke up when Ronja wanted to get out of the tent, she though it was too warm inside. The weather was brilliant! I packed all my things and placed the pulkas in the snow mobile sledge. In the afternoon I was driven up to Verlegenhuken, the northern most point of Spitsbergen. The snowscooters turned around and started their trip back. I quickly got organized, put the dogs in front of one of the sledges/pulkas and me in front of the other.
I'm only a bit over 1000 km from the North Pole, probably there isn't anyone between me and the Pole, just ice and water.
In the sea around Verlegenhuken ice was drifting around, the wind was strong so I didn't want to stay longer than absolutely necessary. We turned south and started skiing.
The adventure has started for real now!
