A new team member!
Late last night, late start today. I decided I would take today as a last check that I haven't forgotten anything, relax and get a bit organized. Tommy and I also went through practical things around polar bear meetings, I did some shooting practice with the rifle and also tried the signal gun. I'm also bringing a signal pen and alarm system to put around the tent, everything to scare the polar bears off if they come too close.
The team has a new member since yesterday, Bris. A big dog who normally lives in Longyearbyen. He is very used to polarbears. So from now on he will be guarding outside the tent every night and let me know when a bear is spotted. That feels good!
