2011-04-18 Äventyret har börjat
The adventure has started! After a late night, got to bed 01.30, I had an alpine start today, up at 02.30. Bengt drove us over to Norway, Vernes. 76 kg of equipment and my dog Ronja was checked in. At 06.55 the flight took of, and after some stops on the way we landed at 14.00 at Longyearbyen airport, Svalbard. Tommy who I met here last time I was here picked us up. Had a stop at Sysselmannen to get all papers ready, show insurance , emergency beacon etc to get the tour permit.
The rest of the day was spent repacking and organize everything for tomorrow when we will go to the northern most point of Spitsbergen. Tommy will help us to get there, transportation with snow mobile,if the weather isOk.
A full on day, but it feels great to finally be here, can't wait to get started!
